    Hi Mr Barlow,

I am not a student of your school, or a school student at all…And unfortunatly, I didn’t study biology, chemistry or physics in high school.

So, now, in my early 30s, I am now trying to play catch up, or at the least get a basic grasp of these sciences.

I have been looking all over the internet for an introduction to chemistry or physics podcast.

I have found good ones on biology (Douchy and yours).

But as far as physics and chemistry goes, I have had no luck…

I have listened to a few of the USA university lectures, but these are a bit over my head. Plus sometimes the lecturers drift of topic, as some do…and this makes them difficult to follow.

As I like to learn using a range of mediums, I have been looking for a similar thing in books as well, but our library doesn’t seem to have what I am looking for. The websites I have found also seem to be either too simple or too complex as well…

I have found a few ebooks on the internet and I have started to read university texts on these subjects, but would like something a little more elementary.

I am only looking for a general understanding of how these sciences work and how they influence our lives.

In your travels, have you found good, well made books, podcasts, book on CD of the above topics?

I have been looking for this sort of information on and off for about 1 year and a half now… I have posted the same query on a few science forums with no luck, so I hope you don’t mind me posting here.

If you do, please delete the post, but let me know via email if you can assist.

Any assistance you provide will be much appreciated.

    Regards
    Darryl

      Hi Darryl,
My Biology podcast is targeted at late high school students so if you are finding that useful I would recommend picking up a few senior year high school text books. They are usually easy to follow and include interesting applications of the science being discussed.
      Cheers,
      Mr. Barlow
