Newton’s second law of motion states that F = ma, this means that the force something applies is equal to it’s mass multiplied by its acceleration.
Something with a small mass that accelerates slowly will have a small force, for example, a bullet falling onto your shoulder from one metre above you will have a small force.
Something with a small mass and a very large acceleration will have a big force, for example, a bullet being shot at your shoulder from one meter away – big force.
Something with a big mass and a small acceleration will also have a big force, for example, a boulder being dropped on your shoulder from one meter above you.
